What’s new at Blendo: Improved Google Ads, PostgreSQL data sources plus more

Blendo Team

What can you do this month that you couldn’t do last month?

We made quite a few cool updates in December. We now have a revamped Google Ads data connector and improved our PostgreSQL connector to import JSON data types. There are also a few changes in the way you connect with Xero and QuickBooks Online reducing the integration time to a few seconds.

So here’s what’s new.

1. Revamped Google Ads data source

We took some more time with this but we revamped in a way that you can get any data you need from Google Ads in the form you need.

What does this mean for you and your data team?

Are you looking to build your Campaign Performance Report or your Ad Group Performance Report and then analyze your data in SQL?

It is now ridiculously easy to build them into your data warehouse directly.

For example, the campaign performance report found here in the UI

Campaign Performance Report (Google Ads UI)

Campaign Performance Report (Google Ads UI)

can be mapped to your data warehouse like this:

Custom Report for Campaign Performance (Blendo UI)

Custom Report for Campaign Performance (Blendo UI)

So instead of swimming in a sea of data and columns that you do not know what they contain you may build the columns you need and create tables easy to analyze in your database.

2. PostgreSQL: Import JSON / JSONB data types

We now handle better cases where a data type in PostgreSQL is JSON or JSONB. Blendo is now able to recognize and pull such data types.

4. Important Update for Xero and QuickBooks Online Integrations

Good news for data teams and marketers that are using Xero and QuickBooks. You can now connect to any of them with a few clicks as we changed the authentication process with oAuth.

What’s New with Xero

We have improved the integration speed of our Xero connector. In the past, you had to create a private app inside Xero first. Not any more.

Just authenticate with Blendo and Xero.

I would love to hear your experience with Xero, so please let me know about it or contact our support team in case you need help.

How to Automate Xero sync with Blendo

  1. Make sure you have a Blendo account, a Xero account, and a data warehouse.
  2. Connect your data warehouse and Xero with Blendo. You may also check out our Xero help documentation for details on connecting your account and setting up your data integration.
  3. Your data from Xero will flow into your data warehouse in a consistent manner and with document and normalized schema you can find on our knowledge base.

What’s New with QuickBooks Online

We have improved the integration speed of our QuickBooks Online connector.

Past data pipelines should not have any issues but if you do just reauthenticate Blendo with QuickBooks Online.
